11/15: Tell the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency to Put the Safety of Fillmore County's Drinking Water Ahead of an Industrial Feedlot's Convenience
The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) has refused the request of the Fillmore County Board and the residents of Fillmore County to order an environmental impact statement for the proposed 5,000 hog Catalpa LLC feedlot. The feedlot would produce 7 million gallons of manure that would be sprayed on fields laying atop karst topography, a land form that the MPCA recognizes as uniquely sensitive to ground and surface water contamination.
11/14: SAVE THE DATE-- RSVP to Show Your Opposition to the Line 3 Oil Pipeline at the Monday, Nov. 19 Public Utilities Commission Meeting
This Monday, Nov. 19, the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission (PUC) will be meeting to hear oral arguments and to deliberate on whether to reconsider its approval of Enbridge Energy's application to build a new Line 3 pipeline to carry 760,000 barrels of tar sands oil from Alberta, Canada to Superior, Wisconsin and, in doing so, cutting through our state's most delicate land and water resources as well as Native American treaty land.
11/13: Tell the Governor-elect Minnesota Needs Investments in Transit, Biking, and Walking
According to a recent poll, 74 percent of Minnesota voters want the state to make investments in transit. Now that the election is over, let's make sure our new Governor and his administration commit to delivering what those voters want.
