5/11: Veto! Veto! Veto!
On Monday, the MN Legislature released final conference committee reports on several budget bills that gut our investments in clean water, rollback our environmental protections, hamstring our agencies, and give favors to corporate polluters. Released at 10:15 PM, under the literal dark of night, these bills were finalized in conference committee without any public hearings and rushed through the House and Senate in less than 24 hours. These bills include HF 888, the Environment and Natural Resources Finance Bill, and SF 605, the Omnibus State Government Appropriations Bill.
For more information on the bad environmental provisions in HF888, please see this letter to the Governor from the Minnesota Environmental Partnership (MEP).
For more information on SF 605's undermining of agency rulemaking, please see this post from the Friends of the Mississippi River.
For more on how conference committee reports were finalized in the dark of night without public testimony or a vote, see this statement from Senator Eaton.
Tell Governor Dayton: I urge and support you to VETO HF 888, the Environment and Natural Resources Finance Bill, and SF 605, the Omnibus State Government Appropriations Bill. Make legislators go back to the negotiating table and pass bills that keep Minnesota clean!
